Silicon Couloir’s 7th Annual Pitch Day will be held on Thursday, August 9th from 4-7 PM at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, WY. Pitch Day is a chance to learn about the latest up-and-coming companies in the Teton region. This year our presenters include:

Irene Griswold-Prenner is the founder of Nitrome Biosciences, a biotech company working on slowing the advance of Parkinson’s Disease.
Greta Eagan is the founder of Beauty Scripts, a beauty products tech company (think “Pinterest meets the Rx pad”).
Ian McIver is the founder of Job Applix, a software company designed for business owners hiring frontline staff.
Kailey Gieck and Karissa Akin are the founders of Ik’splôr, a clothing company bringing eco-friendly fabrics to the infant and toddler market.
Bob Fuziak is the founder of Arms Reach Industries, a company designing consumer products to make life easier and more organized.
Story Clark is the founder of TravelStorys, a travel app company connecting travelers to stories.

Prizes will be given in the following categories: Panelist Choice, Audience Choice, and the Community Caretaker Award, which is new this year. Pitch Day exists to empower and inspire members of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. This free annual event at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, Wyoming, features a handful of local entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to a panel of experienced investors, and a general audience of over 200 people. This event supports the need for local start-up, and early stage, entrepreneurs to take their ideas to the next level, and gain valuable experience from the effort.Selected entrepreneurs had three coaching sessions with a team of successful entrepreneurs and business operators leading up to the main event. Coaching is a critical feature of the program, as it helps entrepreneurs understand and highlight insights and information investors need to evaluate a deal.

Additionally, this event encourages audience members who may need the inspiration (of seeing their peers present) to take the next step toward bringing their own entrepreneurial dreams to fruition. In order to strengthen our community, Silicon Couloir seeks to empower and inspire local entrepreneurs to build long-lasting businesses that provide meaningful career opportunities for members of our community.
