Recreation and Wildlife Forum

This public forum will explore the topic of recreation-wildlife co-existence through the lens of science, communication, and lessons from other communities. The goal is to inspire proactive interest in developing management and education strategies that will allow wildlife to thrive in the face of growing recreation activity on public lands in Jackson Hole and other similar communities.

The event will consist of several “poster sessions” featuring current local efforts around wildlife and recreation co-existence followed by a moderated virtual panel of scientists and practitioners who will share information on what is known about recreation effects on wildlife, effective communication and insights on co-existence from the Bow Valley in Canada and the Colorado front range. After presentations by the panelists, participants will have the opportunity to pose questions and further the discussion.

This event is hosted by Friends of the Bridger-Teton in conjunction with a coalition of agencies, universities and non-profit organizations coordinated through the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
