Susan Orlean, staff writer for the New Yorker and author of seven books including The Orchid Thief and Rin Tin Tin, shares her lifelong love of books and reading with the fascinating history of libraries with her latest publication, The Library Book. With wit, insight, compassion, and a talent for deep research, Orlean investigates the legendary L.A. Public Library fire to showcase the larger, crucial role that libraries play in our lives.
