The songs from Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and Fats Waller just had to be played live. Based in Jackson, Wyoming, the two have been playing together for over 10 years. Papa Chan grew up listening to Bing Crosby and watching Fred Astaire movies. With coat, tie, and an old Epiphone archtop, he strums and sings the songs from the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s. Johnny C Note hitchhiked to Jackson in 1990 and Wyoming has been his home ever since. He studied the upright bass for 12 years with his mentor, Bill Plummer. Playing in the tradition of Ray Brown and Walter Page, C Note loves to “walk that dog.
