For twenty years North Carolina native violinist/fiddler Andrew Finn Magill has pursuing parallel careers in traditional Irish music, Brazilian Choro, jazz and American fiddle. He is a Fulbright Fellow, North Carolina Arts Council Fellow, and Ropeadope Recording artist and has been featured on MTV, Avian inflight entertainment and multiple times on NPR’s “The Thistle and the Shamrock”. His 2016 album Roots debuted at #46 on the folk DJ charts and since then he has toured internationally and headlined several Irish festivals. He has performed with everyone from grammy-nominees John Doyle, Trio Brasileiro and Rising Appalachia. In 2020, he released albums with former Paul McKenna Bandmate Sean Gray and Scottish singer and guitar and bouzouki player, Alan Murray (Colin Farrell Band). Magill also worked on a recording project with Irish singer, Dave Curley and his original jazz quartet, both of which launched in 2021.
Alan Murray hails from Glasgow, Scotland where he was introduced to the tin-whistle at an early age. He eventually turned to guitar as his primary instrument , and later expanded his arsenal to include the bouzouki. He moved to the US to pursue his musical career and was soon playing and recording with some of the best musicians on the New York Irish scene and was featured on 2012’s INDIE-nominated Manhattan Islands Sessions recording. He has taught at the the Catskills Irish Arts Week and Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival and appeared at such well known events as Denmark’s Tender Festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest and Celtic Connections. Alan has shared the stage with such artists as Karan Casey, Kiall and Cillian Vallely, Eileen Ivers, and Scotland’s Battlefield Band. He has toured extensively across Ireland, Britain, Europe, Australia and the U.S.
The Jackson Hole Youth Orchestra will perform their annual pops Spring concert with additional bluegrass and Irish compositions performed with Mr. Magill and Mr. Murray.
