Jackson Hole Community Band is a 30-piece ensemble founded in 1989. They rehearse nearly year-round to provide free entertainment – from old favorites by Duke Ellington, to toe tapping marches by Sousa, to classics by Mussorgsky – at many community events, public concerts, and parades.
They are an all volunteer band and do not hold auditions. Their members hail from backgrounds as diverse as engineering, law, real estate, and the clergy and range in age from early-teens to the eighties. Abilities range from Middle School students needing a more challenging repertoire, community members returning to their musical roots, music majors, and semi professionals. Many members have had a 15- to 20- year break before joining. It’s never too late to join!
