Art Association of Jackson Hole in collaboration with Center for the Arts presents
Artist Talk with Sandra Calvo
Friday, April 21 at 10:00am
Art Association Gallery

Free & Open to the Public

Presented as part of the Art in Translation program

Utilizing her social, collaborative and site-specific artistic practice, Sandra Calvo’s piece will showcase housing, shelter, and territory issues in Jackson. In collaboration with Carmina and Jorge Moreno from One22, Calvo’s installation piece reflects housing challenges here in Teton County and the people impacted.

Art in Translation explores and considers the varied meanings of home, identity, and language in our community through artistic interpretation. The project is the first in a series of programming planned by the Art Association of Jackson Hole to engage our Latino community in meaningful art education that helps to span cultural differences and facilitates a conversation surrounding our shared experiences of living and working in Jackson Hole. The month long collaborative experience includes local and visiting artists, education programs for the entire community and culminates with an Exhibition Opening and Celebration on April 29.

Art in Translation is presented by the Art Association of Jackson Hole in collaboration with Center for the Arts and is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Community Foundation of Jackson Hole and Center for Wonder. For more on Art in Translation, visit artassociation.org.
