Center for the Arts is delighted to announce the recent installation of a work of art by renowned interior and product designer, Agnes Bourne, in The Center Conference Room.

Bourne’s large format print entitled “Triangle X: Thursday, 6am” was taken by the artist with a cell phone and printed on banner fabric by AAA Flag and Banner Co. The piece was originally created to wrap the entry of the show house at Western Design Conference September 2016 in Jackson. She also wrote two poems to accompany the wall hanging, both of which offer the idea of listening to nature,

“From the first visit of Thomas Moran to the present, Jackson Hole has been a magnet for creative arts. What is the magic? Some say that the beauty of the mountains and the fresh air stimulate imagination and vision. Others refer to the spiritual energy of the environment,” stated Bourne.

Agnes is one of the founding visionaries behind Center for the Arts. Currently, she is a Board Member for both The Center and the Art Association of Jackson Hole. Agnes has helped in countless ways to bring The Center to life through her belief and support in the arts and culture of Jackson Hole. Agnes has been an annual guest at Triangle X Ranch since 1973 and continues to make her home in the Teton landscape.

“Agnes is truly one of a kind. She is not only a color-soaked visual visionary and witty powerhouse, but a wise philanthropist with her heart rooted in the arts and the support of all who make the world a better place through creativity. It has been an honor to have her as a mentor and a friend, and to be a witness to all that she contributes to our community,” remarked Nona Yehia, Center Board Member and co-chair of The Center’s Creative Initiatives Committee.

Bourne sees art and design as inextricably linked and universally available to accomplish any task. In her business for over 50 years, this concept is reflected in her design projects and published works. “Triangle X: Thursday, 6am” will be on view at The Center until September. An Artist Reception honoring Agnes Bourne will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 5:00PM in The Center Conference Room.
