In 2024, twelve artists created a unique, collaborative collection of artist books. Each artist either transformed a pre-existing book or made their own into a canvas for their ideas. The books were passed along to the next artist, who continued the transformation, adding their own creative interpretation. This ongoing exchange fostered a strong sense of artistic community, where the work of one artist became a foundation for the next, blending various techniques and perspectives into a cohesive whole. The artists used them as both physical and conceptual canvases, ultimately shaping a diverse and thought-provoking compilation of works. The theme of the collection emerged organically as the books evolved through various hands, blending individual artistic styles with a shared vision.

The participating artists included Miga Rossetti, Sharon Thomas, Lyndsay Rowan, Lisa Walker, Aude-Noelle Nevius, Stephanie Brennan, Karen Stewart, Katy Ann Fox, Carin Munn, Angela Burton, Bronwyn Minton, and Elisa San Souci. Each artist brought their own unique perspective and techniques, from collage and mixed media to intricate bookbinding and illustration, contributing to the overall depth of the project.

By the end of the year, the altered books formed a captivating thematic collection, demonstrating the power of collaboration and creative exchange. The Altered Book Club not only showcases the individual talents of the artists, but also highlights the transformative potential of books as a medium for artistic expression, underscoring the strength of an artistic community in nurturing creative growth.
