9th Annual Wyoming Snow & Avalanche Workshop

The Wyoming Snow and Avalanche Workshop (WYSAW) will return for its 9th year on October 20 & 21, 2023. The workshop will consist of a half-day Pro Workshop and a full-day General Session. All attendance will be in-person. Presentations will be filmed and available for viewing online a few weeks post-event.

WYSAW 2023 will continue to analyze risk management in the winter backcountry with presentations on resource management, operating in regions without avalanche bulletins, sense making, and updates on efforts to improve public information. Researchers, guides, educators, and forecasters will share their knowledge and discuss how we can better mitigate risk when operating in and around avalanche terrain.
