Center of Wonder and Jackson Wild are thrilled to present the 2019 Voices of Wonder: Advocating for the Wild through Storytelling. This event series will feature esteemed pioneers of ocean advocacy Dr. Sylvia Earle and Paul Watson, a National Geographic photo exhibition, screenings of Jackson Wild Media Award contenders, and more. All events will take place on The Center stage and are offered free to the public. Join us in celebrating the work of both emerging and established filmmakers, photographers, and explorers from all over the world!

Friday, Sept. 27th @ 5:00pm: Planet or Plastic? National Geographic Photo Exhibition Happy Hour
Running in the Center Gallery from September 11th to October 6th, the National Geographic “Planet or Plastic?” showcases the photographers and artists of the global plastic waste crisis and the innovators working to solve this urgent issue.

Friday, Sept. 27th @ 6:00pm: Images to Change the World

If a picture is worth a thousand words, these remarkable photographers have volumes to tell. Discover new worlds with 10 renowned visual storytellers. Session produced and moderated by Kaitlin Yarnall, Chief Storytelling Office and Senior Vice President for the National Geographic Society.

17 fellows selected from a pool of over 600 applicants partook in this year’s Jackson Wild Media Lab, an immersive, cross-disciplinary science filmmaking workshop.

Friday, Sept. 27th @ 8:00pm: Screening of Epic Yellowstone: Fire & Ice

Host Bill Pullman embarks on wintry Yellowstone journey over vast blankets of snow and across rivers warmed by geothermal springs. Watch how the area’s extreme conditions pose challenges even for animals that have evolved to survive these harsh winters. Followed by Q+A with Executive Producers Thomas Winston and Tria Thalman and joined by staff members of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition.

Saturday, Sept. 28th @ 6:00pm: Screening of Yellowstone Wolf Dynasty

A film about one of nature’s greatest – and most controversial – experiments: bringing wolves back to Yellowstone. What happened next no one could predict. Followed by a Q+A with Executive Producer Katie Bauer and wolf experts Bob Landis and Kira Cassidy.

Saturday, Sept. 28th @ 7:30pm: Screening of Sea of Shadows

SEA OF SHADOWS follows a team of dedicated scientists, high-tech conservationists, investigative journalists and courageous undercover agents as well as the Mexican Navy as they put their lives on the line to bring a vicious international poaching syndicate to justice.
