The Center Presents Frank’s Fall Film Festival from Friday, November 7th through Sunday, November 9th. Frank’s Fall Film Festival honors Frank Londy’s legacy of bringing excellent films to Jackson. This year’s festival features the seven thoughtfully curated films below. Frank Londy (1946-2021) started Sunshine Films in Jackson in 1972 and opened the Jackson Hole Cinema on Pearl Street in 1977 and the Movieworks Cinema in 1991. Frank’s Fall Film Festival: TINĀ

Tinā is an inspiring drama, a light-hearted rhythmic tear-jerker, and the story of Samoan teacher Mareta Percival. Struggling after the death of her daughter in the Christchurch earthquakes, Mareta reluctantly takes on the role of substitute teacher at an elite, wealthy private school and is surprised to find children crying out for guidance, inspiration, and love.

Racing through the streets of Paris making food deliveries on his bicycle, Guinean immigrant Souleymane (Abou Sangare) is struggling to stay afloat. In two days, he has to report for an asylum application interview, where he must plead his case to an immigration officer (Nina Meurisse) who will determine his future in France.

The mechanic, Vahid, takes the man captive and enlists the help of other former prisoners to decide whether to enact revenge, leading to a moral debate about justice and vengeance. The film blends a gripping thriller with political commentary, exploring the psychological and emotional consequences of oppression.
