Choreography: (noun) the sequence of steps or movements in staged dance.

Just how do those steps and movements come together to create a work of art? New Dances/New Choreographers is the culmination of teaching this process to high-school aged dancers, turned choreographers. Led by Junior Repertory Company Director Michaela Ellingson alongside Luke Dakota Zender, DW's youth ensemble showcases their choreographic efforts through a fully produced evening of live dance. Also featured are works by professional choreographers David Dorfman and Curtis Thomas of David Dorfman Dance, who through a choreographic residence modeled best practice for imagining choreography and translating those images into the dancers' minds and bodies.
