Exhibits and Installations
A new sculpture by local artist Barbara Gentry is on display on the Center outdoor sculpture pad. The piece is called Time and is made with mild steel and river rock. The sculpture was invited to be placed at the Center in the Fall of 2021 as part of the Creative in Residence project led by Agnes Bourne. Barbara has been an artist since 1992, starting her career apprenticing in an Atlanta metal shop followed by a two-year technical school. She moved to Jackson in 2002.Explore
Ben Roth was invited to create a piece for the Center’s inner courtyard as part of the Creative in Residence series curated by Agnes Bourne. The form of Earthrise is created with cross-cut sections of dead tree trunks from a local ranch. Earthrise can be contemplated from the deck above the courtyard or experienced individually within the Center until the summer of 2022.Explore
The Center is proud to have an Art-o-mat in the Glenwood Lobby, come check it out!
Art-o-mat® machines are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. There are over 100 active machines in various locations throughout the country. The experience of pulling the knob alone is quite a thrill, but you also walk away with an original work of art. What an easy way to become an art collector.
