The Center is pleased to announce the addition of four world-class performances coming to The Center Theater this December.

Storm Large: musician, actor, playwright, author, awesome. She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, where despite having been eliminated in the week before the finale, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world to this day.

In the 18-19 season, Storm performs her one-woman autobiographical musical memoir Crazy Enough at Portland Center Stage and La Jolla Music Society celebrating the show’s ten-year anniversary. Highlights of the season include debuts with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Maryland Symphony, and the Philly Pops, as well as return engagements with the Houston Symphony, New York Pops, and the Louisville Orchestra, with whom she recorded the 2017 album All In. Storm continues to tour concert halls across the country with her band Le Bonheur and as a special guest on Michael Feinstein’s Shaken & Stirred tour.

Storm made her debut as guest vocalist with the band Pink Martini in April 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She continues to perform with the band, touring nationally and internationally, and featured on their CD Get Happy. Storm has also sung with Grammy winner k.d. lang, pianist Kirill Gerstein, punk rocker John Doe, Rufus Wainwright, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton.

Chris Thile: Multiple Grammy Award-winner and MacArthur Fellow Chris Thile, a member of Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer and vocalist. With his broad outlook that encompasses classical, rock, jazz, and bluegrass, Thile transcends the borders of conventionally circumscribed genres, creating a distinctly American canon and a new musical aesthetic for performers and audiences alike.

A child prodigy, Thile first rose to fame as a member of Grammy Award-winning trio Nickel Creek, with whom he released three albums and sold over two million records. In 2014, along with a national tour, the trio released a new album, A Dotted Line, their first since 2005.

As a soloist Thile has released five albums including his most recent, Bach: Partitas and Sonatas, Vol.1, which was produced by renowned bassist Edgar Meyer. In February 2013 Thile won a Grammy for his work on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, collaborating with Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer and Stuart Duncan. Then, in September 2014, Thile and Meyer released their latest album collaboration, Bass + Mandolin, which won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. Punch Brothers released their latest album, The Phosphorescent Blues, in January 2015.

Josh Ritter: Upon graduating from Oberlin College, Josh Ritter moved to New England and began performing at Club Passim’s Open Mic nights. His first headline appearance was at the organization’s annual campfire. festival on Memorial Day Weekend in 2000. After opening at Passim for Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, Josh signed with their label, Signature Sounds. Named as one of the 100 Best Living Songwriters by Paste Magazine, Josh has since recorded nine studio albums and has toured all over the world sharing the stage with musicians such as The French Kicks and Joan Baez.
