Thursday, January 17, Walk Festival Hall Snow Night feature the award-winning, feature-length film "Let It Ride: The Craig Kelly Story," the parallel evolution of snowboarding and its icon. Also featuring the North American premiere of "Speed Riding: Attack a Popow Land," about the wild combination of paragliding and skiing, and "Mountain Town: The Grasshopper," featuring the futuristic tele skiing of Aspen local Nick Devore.
Friday, January 18, Walk Festival Hall Surf Night features the first family of surf: Dana and Wes Brown present three generations of liquid cinema as well as an advanced screening from their upcoming film, "High Water." Plus Dan Malloy presents the world premiere of "Sliding Liberia," the surf story with soul that captures a glimpse of hope in war-torn west Africa. Also featuring "Bra Boys" (PARENTAL DISCRETION ADVISED: violence, profanity), the shocking story of the Australian street gang redeemed by surf, narrated by Russell Crowe. (And don't miss the 2 p.m. matinee screening of "Step Into Liquid," presented in person by Dana Brown; $5 suggested donation; all proceeds go to SurfAid International.)
Saturday, January 19, Walk Festival Hall Stone Night features the US premiere of "The Beckoning Silence," the riveting follow-up to "Touching the Void." Plus: Steph Davis and Peter Mortimer present Mortimer’s world premiere of "Diamonds are Forever," the US premiere of "Western Lands – Hoy and Climber," and the North American premiere of "The Great White Fright."
The People's Choice Ceremonies featuring The People’s Choice award-winning films from the previous three evenings, and the 2 p.m. Mountain Town Matinee, take place Jan. 20 in the Center Theater.
