Progress Performance 2013: The Science of DancePresented by Dancers' Workshop

May 17, 2013 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Center Theater

Cost:$5 Admission (+ processing fee)

Two performances:
6:00pm
8:00pm

On May 17, five-year olds to adults will take the Center Theater stage and show friends, family and the welcomed public what they have learned throughout the year in their dance classes. A Dancers’ Workshop tradition for over twenty years, the annual Progress Performance is always a charming display of both the progress of individual students, and the progression of a life in dance- from the simple skipping of a five-year old to the strength and grace of the most advanced students. The theme of this year’s show is The Science of Dance. This year the school will be examining how the body and dance relate to science. The result of their weeks of work showcases the dedication and technique each student possesses, and gives dancers of all levels the opportunity to perform on stage.

Dancers’ Workshop’s School is the foundation of the organization, giving students the opportunity to grow artistically and athletically throughout the school year. Offering seventy classes a week, Dancers’ Workshop’s School encourages self-confidence, self-expression and creative development not only in dance but in life skills as well. The end-of-year Progress Performance has evolved with the DW School over the years, transitioning from the old Colter School gym, to the High School Auditorium, to the Center Theater, where it’s now necessary to hold two separate shows in order to accommodate all of the audience members who want to attend.
